Trumann, AR (11/15/12) – Kyle Beard is preparing for his final two weekends of the 2012 season in his #86 Upton Motorsports/Pierce Race Car Super Late Model, which will include trips to Missouri and Mississippi.
Two weeks ago Kyle took part in the 11th Annual Larry Phillips Memorial on Saturday night, November 3rd at Springfield Raceway (Springfield, Missouri). The $3,000-to-win event attracted a strong field of thirty-three Super Late Models. With passing points in effect for heat race action a sixth place finish would see Kyle short of locking into the feature, and as a result had to run a b-main. A third place finish in the b-main locked Beard into the seventeenth starting spot for the finale. Despite starting deep in the field Kyle marched through the pack on his way to a sixth place finish behind race winner, Jesse Stovall, Terry Phillips, Jack Sullivan, Justin Zeitner, and Dustin Mooneyham. Kyle will return to Springfield Raceway this Saturday, November 17th for the Turkey Bowl VI, which will post a $2,000 winner’s check. He will conclude his 2012 campaign next weekend, November 23rd-24th, with the annual Possum Town Grand Prix at Columbus Speedway (Columbus, Mississippi). On Friday night a $1,000 winner’s check will be on the line for the Super Late Model division, while the competitors will battle for a $2,000 top prize on Saturday night.
