(BRASSTOWN, NORTH CAROLINA) Ray Cook and the #53 D&R Motorsports team ventured to the Duck River Raceway Park in Wheel, Tennessee on November 16-17 for the inaugural running of the ‘Deep Fried 75.’ The unsanctioned program at DRRP boasted a $10,000 top prize.

On Friday night during preliminary action, Ray timed in third quickest in his group during the qualifying session and later won his heat race. After rolling off from the inside of the fifth row in Saturday’s 75-lap feature event, Ray sported a fast racecar at the 1/3-mile central Tennessee bullring. The Brasstown, North Carolina star moved up to second by the halfway mark, pressured leader Vic Hill on multiple occasions, and eventually settled for a strong runner-up effort behind Hill’s #1 machine. Full results from the ‘Deep Fried 75′ can be viewed online at www.duckriverspeedway.net.

Next up for the popular driver known as the “Tarheel Tiger” will be his 2012 season finale on November 23-24 at the Swainsboro Raceway in Swainsboro, Georgia. The annual running of the ‘Turkey 100’ will be held for the Crate Late Models over the weekend at Swainsboro and a whopping $20,000 winner’s check will be on the line. Qualifying and heat races are scheduled for Friday night, while the weekend will be headlined by the ‘Turkey 100’ main event on Saturday evening.
