ArkLaTex Speedway(BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS) The Billy Moyer Racing (BMR) team will strike out to the Ark-La-Tex Speedway in Vivian, Louisiana on March 8-9 for the 3rd Annual ‘Pelican 100.’ The unsanctioned, two-day event boasts a $10,000 top prize. Qualifying and heat races will take place this Friday night, while the consolation events and the 100-lap finale are scheduled for Saturday evening. Additional information on the ‘Pelican 100’ weekend can be obtained by clicking on www.arklatexspeedway.net.

Billy Moyer’s trip to Louisiana this weekend will mark his first event since the conclusion of his “Speedweeks 2013” journey. From February 9-23, Billy entered a total of thirteen Dirt Late Model events at five different venues across Georgia and Florida. The Batesville, Arkansas Hall of Famer racked up one feature win, four Top Fives, and five Top Tens during his stint in the southeast.

His trip to victory lane came during the annual ‘UNOH DIRTcar Nationals’ at the Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Florida on Friday, February 22. After laying down the fastest lap in Group B during the World of Outlaws Late Model Series qualifying session, Billy went on to win his heat race and later drew the number three starting spot for the 50-lapper. “Mr. Smooth” then took the lead from Eric Wells on the eleventh circuit and raced to the $10,000 triumph over Rick Eckert, Darrell Lanigan, Dennis Erb, Jr., and Shane Clanton!

Aside from posting his 19th career ‘UNOH DIRTcar Nationals’ victory, Billy also recorded a third and a fourth place finish during the weeklong festivities at the Daytona Beach area speedplant. His other top five performance during “Speedweeks” came on February 10 at the North Florida Speedway in Lake City, Florida, where he finished a solid fifth in a $5,000 to win UMP showdown.
