MARS DIRTcar Series(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) Dennis Erb, Jr. and his #28 team kicked off their version of the 2013 season last month in the Sunshine State of Florida. Dennis was a fixture during the ‘DART Winternationals’ at the East Bay Raceway Park in Gibsonton, Florida and the ‘UNOH DIRTcar Nationals’ at the Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Florida. He was extremely fast right out of the box this year, as the Carpentersville, Illinois ace netted two victories, five Top Fives, and seven Top Tens in the twelve high-profile Dirt Late Model events that he entered from February 11-23.

The driver of the J.R. McBride Leasing / JL Scrap Metals #28 Team Zero by Bloomquist entry was especially lethal at East Bay, as he scored both of his “Speedweeks” wins at the 1/3-mile Tampa oval. Dennis picked up the $5,000 top prize in Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series action on Monday, February 11 and the $7,000 winner’s check on Wednesday, February 13. Armed with two additional Top Five performances at the “Clay by the Bay,” Dennis walked way in the second spot in the ‘DART Winternationals’ point standings and currently sits fifth in latest version of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series point tally.

At Volusia, Dennis advanced into five of the six feature events during the historic ‘UNOH DIRTcar Nationals.’ He scored a sixth place finish in a $10,000 to win World of Outlaws Late Model Series show on February 21 at the Daytona Beach area speedplant, while he placed fourth in a similar event at VSP on February 22. You can read a complete race-by-race recap from Dennis’ journey through Florida by clicking on www.denniserb.com.

Next up for the Dennis Erb Racing team will be a trip to the Volunteer State of Tennessee on March 8-9. The Clarksville Speedway in Clarksville, Tennessee will play host to the annual running of the ‘Tuckasee Toilet Bowl Classic’ this weekend. The UMP DIRTcar Series and MARS DIRTcar Series will preside over a $3,000 to win showdown on Friday night, while a $5,000 payday will be on the line on Saturday evening. Dennis picked up a coveted Toilet Bowl trophy for winning the finale back in 2011 and will be looking for another race title this weekend.
