Lucas Oil Late Model Series(BRIGHT, INDIANA) The Warrior House Car team and driver Scott James were scheduled to follow the World of Outlaws Late Model Series trail to the Wayne County Speedway in Orrville, Ohio and the Tyler County Speedway in Middlebourne, West Virginia on May 24-26 for a trio of high-profile events. However, hauler issues on Friday afternoon prevented the #1G team from making it to Wayne County for the $10,000 to win ‘Buckeye 50.’ Scott was awarded hardship points by the series and the problems with the hauler were fixed in time to make it to Tyler County on Saturday.

Night one of the ‘Jackpot 100’ on Saturday at Tyler County featured a $6,000 top prize. Scott laid down the fastest lap in Group A during the qualifying session and later took the win in his heat race. After drawing the seventh starting spot prior to the 30-lap main event, Scott was running strong early in the race before a lap 15 tangle caused him to fall to twentieth in the final rundown. The Memorial Day weekend concluded on Sunday with the $15,000 to win ‘Jackpot 100’ finale. The Bright, Indiana ace ran sixth in his heat race, second in his B-Main, and later moved up twelve spots in the 70-lapper on his way to a solid eighth place effort. Full results from Tyler County can be accessed online at www.woolms.com.

Scott and the #1G Warrior House Car team were forced to make the difficult decision this week to pull off the World of Outlaws Late Model Series tour. With lingering transporter issues – the truck is back in the shop for additional work as of press time – and the fact that Scott is mired back in eleventh in WOOLMS standings due to missing Wayne County, the team has decided to pick and choose their schedule for the remainder of 2013. Instead of traveling to Delaware and New York with the Outlaws this weekend, Scott is now slated to be in action in the $10,000 to win ‘Ralph Latham Memorial’ at the Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky on Saturday, June 1. Additional information on the annual Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series race can be viewed by clicking on www.lucasdirt.com.

“It was a tough decision, but one we definitely had to make,” quoted James via telephone earlier today. “The truck is still in the shop today and there is no way we could have made it to Delaware if we wanted to. You have to have all of your ducks in a row to run that Outlaws deal and we did there at the start of the year, but then we ran into some issues. We have a new car that is about done and we will just start picking and choosing races to run that make sense. I always enjoy racing at Florence and Eldora, so I am definitely looking forward to bring our Warrior racecar to those two places in the next couple of weeks!”
