Eldora Speedway(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) Dennis Erb, Jr. and his #28 team made their yearly pilgrimage to the famed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio on June 6-8 for the 19th Annual ‘Dirt Late Model Dream.’ The expanded format at the “Big E” kicked off on Thursday and Friday with Twin 25s. On Thursday night, Dennis won his heat race in preliminary action, started from the pole of the $2,500 to win feature event, and eventually was credited with a fifth place performance in the 25-lapper behind only winner Matt Miller, Jimmy Owens, Bub McCool, and Scott Bloomquist.

At the hallowed high-banks on Friday evening, Dennis ran second in his heat race and later started the main event from the inside of the fourth row. The Carpentersville, Illinois star quickly vaulted up to second and overtook leader Chris Madden on the twentieth circuit. He then led five of the final six laps en route to the $5,000 triumph over Madden, Billy Moyer, Don O’Neal, and Doug Drown!

Things really heated up at the 1/2-mile facility on Saturday, as a whopping $100,000 top prize was on the line in the ‘Dirt Late Model Dream.’ Dennis moved up to third in his loaded heat race to grab the final transfer spot and the seventeenth starting position in the 100-lap crown jewel event. He then put on a show during the ‘Dirt Late Model Dream’ by picking off an astounding fifteen competitors on his way to an impressive runner-up effort behind only victor Scott Bloomquist. The second place finish was Dennis’ best career run in the extra distance affair and netted him a cool $20,000 payday. “We had a great weekend at Eldora and it was a lot of fun racing up front all three nights,” commented Erb following the weekend. “Of course, everybody wants to win that hundred grand, but we had a good run up through the field and got up to second. We are going to get one of those big races at Eldora sometime; hopefully, it comes sooner than later. Our cars and motors and everything is just clicking right now, so hopefully we can keep running up front this week in events at Brownstown and Magnolia.”

The Dennis Erb Racing team will not rest on their success from last weekend, as they plan to return to competition this week in a pair of high-profile events. Dennis is currently en route to the legendary Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, Indiana for tonight’s running of the ‘Hoosier Dirt Classic.’ The UMP DIRTcar Summer Nationals lid lifter tonight at Brownstown will pay $5,000 to the winner.

Dennis will then travel further south to the Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi on June 14-15 for the annual ‘Clash at the Mag.’ The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will once again preside over the two-day show, which starts on Friday with time trials and heat races. Consolation events and the 100-lap, $20,000 to win main event will then headline the action on Saturday at the Magnolia Motor Speedway. Dennis comes into the televised event tied for fifth in the latest LOLMDS point standings.
