(HARRISBURG, ILLINOIS) Randy Korte and the Riggs Motorsports team stopped their preparation for the upcoming UMP DIRTcar Summer Nationals long enough to roll into the Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Illinois on Friday night, June 7. Randy flexed his muscle all night, as he took the win in his heat race and the dash to earn the pole position for the weekly Super Late Model main event. The Highland, Illinois ace then claimed the $1,200 victory – his third of the 2013 season – over Billy Faust, Rickey Frankel, Scott Weber, and Jason McBride. Teammate Jason Riggs was also in action at the St. Louis area venue on Friday, as he finished fourth in his heat race prior to notching a ninth place effort in the A-Main. Randy and the #81k team now plan to start the grueling UMP DIRTcar Summer Nationals tour this week with events in the states of Indiana and Wisconsin. The “Hell Tour” grind kicks off tonight, June 12 at the legendary Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, Indiana with the $5,000 to win ‘Hoosier Dirt Classic.’ Following a travel day on Thursday, Randy will be in action at the renowned Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wisconsin and the Wilmot Raceway in Wilmot, Wisconsin from June 14-16. In all, the UMP Summer Nationals will preside over an astounding 31 races in 39 days from June 12-July 20.
Jason and his #81jr team will not start out on the UMP Summer Nationals grind, but will instead travel to the Clarksville Speedway in Clarksville, Tennessee on Saturday night, June 15. A $1,000 top prize will be on the line in a weekly UMP event at the Volunteer State venue.
