DIRTcar Summer Nationals(MENOMONIE, WISCONSIN) The Mars Racing team made the short trek to the renowned Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wisconsin on June 14-15 for the 15th Annual ‘Masters’ weekend. The UMP Summer Nationals tour rolled into CLS to preside over a pair of high-profile events. On Friday night, Jimmy Mars laid down the quickest lap overall of the 31 entrants during time trials and later ran third in his stacked heat race. After starting the $5,000 to win feature event from the inside of the fourth row, Jimmy was unfortunately involved in an early race incident and eventually wound up twelfth in the final finishing order of the 40-lapper.

A $10,000 top prize was then scheduled to be on the line in Saturday’s ‘Masters’ finale. Unfortunately, Mother Nature took home the win and the event was rained-out. Complete results from Friday at Cedar Lake can be obtained by clicking on www.cedarlakespeedway.com.

Two more UMP Summer Nationals tilts are on the schedule for the #28 team in the Land of Lincoln on June 21-22. Both the Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Illinois (Friday) and the Fairbury American Legion Speedway in Fairbury, Illinois (Saturday) will play host to $10,000 to win showdowns this upcoming weekend. Additional information concerning the doubleheader can be found by pointing your web browser to www.thehelltour.com.
