World of Outlaws Late Model Series(YORK, PENNSYLVANIA) Rick Eckert, of York, Pennsylvania, will return to Dirt Late Model competition this Friday night, July 19 at the Winchester Speedway in Winchester, Virginia. Scheduled to be behind the wheel of Paul Crowl’s #7 machine, Rick will tackle the annual ‘Mike Clore Memorial’ on Friday. The unsanctioned program will be headlined by a 35-lap feature event, which boasts a $2,500 payday. Rick has been lethal in the #7 car so far this year, as he has reached victory lane on four different occasions – including twice at Winchester. Additional information on the ‘Mike Clore Memorial’ can be accessed online at www.winchestervaspeedway.com.

The popular driver known as “Scrub” and his own #24 team recently completed the Wild West Tour with the World of Outlaws Late Model Series. The six-race tour from July 5-12 snaked through the states of Wisconsin, Minnesota, South Dakota, Wyoming, North Dakota, and the Canadian province of Manitoba. With two races succumbing to inclement weather, Rick accumulated one win, two Top Fives, and four Top Tens in the four events that escaped Mother Nature’s grasp.

Highlighting the jaunt out west was without doubt Rick’s first World of Outlaws Late Model Series triumph of 2013, which came in the annual ‘Cowboy 40’ at the Gillette Thunder Speedway in Gillette, Wyoming on July 9! Rick timed in third fastest in Group A during the qualifying session and later ran second in his heat race. After drawing the third starting spot prior to the 40-lapper, Rick grabbed the point from leader Darrell Lanigan on lap eighteen and led the remainder of the distance en route to the win.
“Scrub” picked up the $8,000 payday by besting Lanigan, Clint Smith, Jimmy Mars, and Eric Wells!
