FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Salina, Oklahoma – September 20, 2013 – Jesse Stovall used lapped traffic to his advantage to win Friday night’s National Championship Racing Association of Park City, Kansas presented by Precise Racing Products late model feature at the Salina HIgh Banks Speedway in Salina, Oklahoma. This race was also held with the MARS DIRTcar series.

Stovall and Dustin Walker started on the front row for the twenty-five lap feature with Stovall taking the lead as the green flag fell. Sixth starting Tony Jackson, Jr., quickly moved into the runner up position and would look to reel in the leader, who had opened a half stretch lead by lap three.

The running order on lap five was Stovall, Jackson, Brad Looney, Walker and Gary Christian with lapped traffic now becoming part of the mix two laps later. This would allow Jackson to close to withing three car lengths of the lead before the first of three caution flags fell on lap ten when Looney got together with a lapped car on the front stretch causing both drivers to crash. Looney would go pitside to change his Hoosier tire while Johnson was done for the night.

On the Delaware double[-file restart, Stovall got the jump on the field and would quickly open up a ten car length advantage over Johnson. At this point Looney, who just last week won the Larry Phillips Memorial, worked his way up from restarting at the tail of the field and would be up to forth by lap seventeen. However his run would come to an end with just four laps remaining as he made contact with another lapped car which caused a four car pile up. He would end his night with a fifteenth place finish.

On the restart it was current NCRA point leader Jacob Magee and second in tour points Jimmy Segraves making contact down the backstretch with G&G Dozer rookie of the year contender Magee breaking his front end, causing him to dart into the infield and hit the turn three light pole. While visably upset, his night would end with a thirteenth place finish.

Once racing action resumed Stovall once again took off from the rest of the field with Jackson still trying to keep pace. Behind him Christian continued to make his way up the field from his tenth starting position as he passed McCormick for the third position.

Back up front there was no catching Stovall as he went to claim the half stretch victory, his first of the season with the NCRA. Jackson settled for second with Christian, McCormick and Justin Asplin rounding out the top five.

The four, eight lap heat races for the twenty-six car field were won by Stovall, Walker, Chance Bishop and Looney with Magee claiming the twelve lap “B” feature.

The 2013 race season for both the NCRA and MARS DIRTcar series will come to an end tonight with night #2 at the Salina High Banks. Start time is 7:00 PM.
