(Moberly, Mo) – After 39 events, the 2013 Lucas Cattle Company ULMA season has come to a close. Final weekend winners included J.D. Hubert, who drove to his first win of the year at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri, and Vance Wilson, who picked up his 14th ULMA win of the year and 10th overall at Randolph County Raceway (RCR) in Moberly, Missouri.

Another large field of cars made their way to Lucas Oil Speedway (LOS) Saturday with 24 cars signed in for three heat races and a caution free main event. Last year’s track champion Jeremy Kelley started off on the right foot by claiming victory in heat race one followed by Daniel Jessen and Justin Russell. Todd McCoin crafted a victory over Kevin Coyne and Larry Jones in heat two with J.D. Hubert of Cross Timbers, Missouri, taking the win in heat three over 2013 ULMA Rookie of the Year Payton Looney and Ethan Young.

The stellar lineup of cars made their way to the track for the final main event of the year with Coyne and Kelley sitting on the front row. However, it didn’t’ take long for third-starting J.D. Hubert to find his way to the front even though Kelley hounded him for the lead on the high side. Several drivers advanced through the field during the torrid pace including Young, Jason Russell, Mike Montague, and Jon Binning.

When the final checkered flag of the ULMA season fell over the speedway it was J.D. Hubert returning to victory lane for his ninth-career ULMA victory and first since mid June of the 2012 season at LOS. Kelley valiantly fought for the victory but settled for second, his best finish of the year, Ethan Young also recorded his best finish of the year with a brilliant run to third.

Jason Russell once again took the track championship at LOS and finished the year off strong with a run from tenth on the grid to finish fourth. Montague rounded out the top five with R.D. Peterson, Jones, Coyne, Justin Russell and Binning completing the top ten. ULMA thanks Lucas Oil Speedway for another successful season and for allowing them to sanction late model racing at the track. For more information on LOS and the track’s remaining events visit www.LucasOilSpeedway.com.

Twelve cars made their way to RCR for competition in the track’s final night of racing this season. Drivers competed in two heat races during the program with Wilson showing the way over Kenny Mudd and Ryan Pertersheim of Harrisburg, Missouri, in heat race one. Jon Melloway of Hallsville, Missouri, stepped up to the plate and claimed heat two ahead of Chase Breid and Dave Miller of Mexico, Missouri.

Melloway earned the pole position for the main event with Wilson to his outside in search of continued domination at the track. From the onset of the event, it was evident Wilson was eager to rack up yet another victory as he cruiseed to his latest win. Mudd found his way to second by race end one spot ahead of Melloway in third. Bobby Penney, Breid, Steve Dieckmann, Miller, Chris Lapp, Bridget Clifford, and Terry Wilson rounded out the top ten.

ULMA wishes to thank RCR for allowing them to sanction their late model racing in 2013 and looks forward to another season at the rejuvenated and revitalized track for 2014. For additional information and a look at the final rundown of track points, visit www.randolphcountyraceway.com.
