NDRL - National Dirt Racing League(MENOMONIE, WISCONSIN) Jimmy Mars, who finished third in last year’s inaugural National Dirt Racing League (NDRL) point standings, will compete in a Super Late Model for the first time in a month this upcoming weekend at East Alabama Motor Speedway in Phenix City, Alabama. Jimmy will not be behind the wheel of his familiar Mars Racing entry at EAMS; however, as the Menomonie, Wisconsin star will instead pilot a #28 MB Customs machine owned by Jason Krohn Racing. Jason Krohn, who has campaigned both MB Customs Late Models and MB Customs Modifieds for the past several years, will also be in action with his car builder this weekend in the 17th edition of the ‘Bama Bash.’

The NDRL will preside over the ‘Bama Bash’ at East Alabama Motor Speedway and the two-day affair will serve as the first points race of the 2014 season for the national touring body. Things will kick off at the historic facility on Friday night, February 28 with qualifying and heat races. On Saturday evening, March 1, the huge weekend will be capped off with consolation events and the 75-lap A-Main, which boasts a hefty $17,017 winner’s check. Jimmy has enjoyed some strong runs in his limited past at EAMS including a big ‘National 100’ triumph back in 2008, which netted him a cool $20,000. Additional information on the ‘Bama Bash’ weekend can be accessed online at www.thendrl.com.

“I am really looking forward to racing this weekend at East Alabama,” quoted Mars earlier this week from his Menomonie, Wisconsin race shop. “I don’t get a chance to race at Phenix City very often, but it is a neat place and I have had some good runs there in the past. A big thanks goes to Jason Krohn for giving me the opportunity to drive his equipment this weekend. It will give me a chance to work hands-on with his race team without having to drag my own equipment all the way down there to race myself.”

Mars Racing would like to thank all of their supporters including: Deppe Enterprises, T.L.
