Dennis-Erb-Jr(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) After a hectic “Speedweeks” in Georgia and Florida, Dennis Erb Racing has been busy in recent days refreshing their equipment for their next weekend of racing action, which will take place at Clarksville Speedway in Clarksville, Tennessee on March 4-5. The annual running of the ‘Tuckasee Toilet Bowl Classic’ will be held in the Volunteer State this upcoming weekend and the MARS DIRTcar Series will preside over all of the dirt-slinging competition. A $3,000 top prize will be on the line in Friday night’s opener, while Saturday’s finale boasts a $5,000 payday. Additional information on the doubleheader weekend can be accessed by clicking on www.marsracingseries.com.

Dennis Erb, Jr. kicked off his 2016 campaign with high-profile events at Golden Isles Speedway near Brunswick, Georgia, East Bay Raceway Park in Gibsonton, Florida, Bubba Raceway Park in Ocala, Florida, and Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Florida from February 4-20. In all, Dennis entered sixteen shows and was able to accumulate a pair of Top Five efforts and five Top Ten performances. With the ultra-competitive Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series, Dennis emerged from “Speedweeks” tied for seventh in the current national point standings.

His best two showings came in a three-day stretch at East Bay and Volusia. In the televised $12,000 to win ‘Winternationals’ finale on February 13, Dennis started the 60-lap headliner from the outside of the fifth row and proceeded to pick off seven competitors at the Tampa-area facility. At the checkers, Dennis found himself in the third position behind only victor Mason Zeigler and runner-up Scott Bloomquist.

On February 15 in the ‘DIRTcar Nationals’ opener for the UMP Super Late Models at Volusia, Dennis won his heat race in preliminary action to earn the pole position in the $7,000 to win feature event. When the dust had settled at the Daytona Beach-area speedplant, the Carpentersville, Illinois standout was an impressive runner-up behind only race winner Billy Moyer, Jr.!
