(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) Dennis Erb, Jr. and his #28 team entered a total of five DIRTcar Summer Nationals shootouts in successive days from August 11-15 and racked up a pair of Top Fives and two more additional Top Ten efforts. The best performance for Dennis came on Friday night in a $10,000 to win battle at Fayette County Speedway in Brownstown, Illinois. Dennis clicked off the fourth fastest lap in Group B during the qualifying session prior to securing a heat race triumph. After rolling off from the inside of second row in the 50-lap main event, the Carpentersville, Illinois standout moved up to second early in the distance before winding up third and on the podium behind only race winner Brian Shirley and runner-up Shannon Babb!

The other top five showing came a night earlier on Thursday evening in the annual running of the ‘Herald & Review 100’ at the mighty Macon Speedway in Macon, Illinois. Dennis placed second in his stacked heat race prior to finishing fifth in the final rundown of the 100-lap headliner behind only $5,000 victor Brandon Sheppard, Brian Shirley, Jason Feger, and Shannon Babb. In other action during the busy week, Dennis ran sixth on Tuesday at Sycamore Speedway in Maple Park, Illinois, sixth again on Wednesday at Fairbury Speedway in Fairbury, Illinois, and sixteenth on Saturday at Federated Raceway at I-55 in Pevely, Missouri after suffering a broken valve spring. Complete results from all five “Hell Tour” contests can be located online at www.dirtcarsummernationals.com.

The Dennis Erb Racing team will jump back on the World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series tour this weekend (August 20-22) in a trio of pivotal point races in the Keystone State. Up first will be a visit to Lincoln Speedway in Abbottstown, Pennsylvania for the ‘Billy Vacek and Huey Wilcoxon Memorial,’ which will be held later tonight and will boast a $12,000 top prize. A pair of $10,000 to win special events will then close out the tripleheader weekend on Friday at Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania and on Saturday at Eriez Speedway in Hammett, Pennsylvania. Dennis comes into the triple shot sixth in the latest version of the WOOLMS point standings. More information can be obtained by clicking on www.woolms.com.
