(RINGGOLD, GEORGIA) Michael Page, of Douglasville, Georgia, proved to be the class of the field at Boyd’s Speedway on Saturday night by claiming a flag-to-flag $5,000 triumph in the annual running of ‘The Gobbler’ at the Ringgold, Georgia facility! Michael qualified well in Schaeffer’s Oil Fall Nationals Series time trials and later won the fast dash to secure the pole position for the 50-lap headliner. He then controlled the field throughout the contest and pulled away on a late race restart to win by a near four-second advantage over Randy Weaver, new series point leader Donald McIntosh, Austin Smith, and Heath Hindman.

Michael mastered the Chattanooga-area oval to record his first career Schaeffer’s Oil Fall Nationals Series victory aboard his #18x Stinger Race Car, which was powered by an Andy Durham Racing Engine. Sponsorship for Page’s entry comes from Baird Sales & Rentals, Baird Truck & Trailer Sales, National Transportation Insurance Specialists, Schaeffer’s Oil, Modern Images, Base Racing Fuels, and T&T Trucking.

A total of 28 competitors were on hand Saturday for the Super Late Model portion of ‘The Gobbler’ weekend and Randy Weaver came out on top of qualifying with a fast lap of 14.954 seconds. Michael Page won the fast dash, while heat race victories went to Dirt Late Model Hall of Famer Ronnie Johnson and Matthew Turner. Series provisionals were awarded to Joey Standridge and Craig Greer.

The Schaeffer’s Oil Fall Nationals Series presented by Sunoco Race Fuels will conclude the 2020 season with a lucrative doubleheader on November 20-21 in the states of North Carolina and Georgia. On Friday night, Ray Cook’s Tri-County Race Track in Brasstown, North Carolina will host their second event of the fall miniseries, as the inaugural running of the ‘North Carolina State Championship’ will pay out $4,000 to the winner. The 2020 Fall Nationals tour will then wrap up with the rain-postponed ‘Billy Clanton Classic’ on Saturday at Senoia Raceway in Senoia, Georgia, which boasts a hefty $10,000 windfall.
