(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS)  Dennis Erb, Jr. and his #28 team were up front throughout a lucrative tripleheader in the states of Illinois and Wisconsin from May 14-16.  Last Friday night in the $10,000 to win ‘Farmer City 74,’ Dennis clicked off the second fastest lap in Group A during MARS Racing Series qualifying and later secured a victory in his heat race.  After starting fourth in the 74-lap headliner at Farmer City Raceway, Dennis was able to maintain that position on the mostly one-groove racing surface to bring home a steady fourth place performance behind only victor Brandon Sheppard, Bobby Pierce, and Tanner English.

A $15,000 top prize was then on the line on Saturday evening in the ‘Spring Showcase’ at Fairbury Speedway in downtown Fairbury, Illinois.  Dennis timed in third quickest in Group B during the MARS qualifying session prior to running second in heat race action.  The Carpentersville, Illinois star then rolled off from the outside of the third row and advanced all the way up to second in the 50-lap feature to finish a close runner-up behind only race winner Tanner English!

Sunday saw the Dennis Erb Racing team in competition at Wilmot Raceway in Wilmot, Wisconsin, as the Dirt Kings Late Model Tour presided over the ‘Diamond 43.’  Dennis picked up a victory in his heat race and later started the $4,300 to win main event from the outside of the front row.  After leading the first 39 circuits of the 43-lap affair, Dennis eventually crossed the finish line in the second spot once again behind only winner Taylor Scheffler.  Complete results from the trio of races can be viewed online at www.marsracingseries.com and www.dirtkingstour.com.

Fresh off those stellar finishes, the #28 team will look to continue that consistency with the World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series this upcoming weekend (May 21-22) in the Keystone State. The racy Port Royal Speedway in Port Royal, Pennsylvania will greet the cars and stars racing with the Outlaws tonight and tomorrow for a pair of big shows. On Friday night, a $10,000 winner’s check will be up for grabs in the ‘Huey Wilcoxon Memorial,’ while a $15,000 payday will be the goal of each race team in Saturday’s ‘Billy Vacek Memorial.’ Dennis comes into the Port Royal doubleheader seventh in the latest version of the WOOLMS point standings. More information can be obtained by clicking on www.woolms.com.
