Another large crowd has gathered at World Wide Technology Raceway during the 11th annual NHRA Midwest Nationals Elimination Day. Perfect race conditions with starting temperature of 64 degrees.
The NHRA and officials at WWT Raceway also announced a sellout crowd during Saturday’s racing action. It was the seventh sellout crowd for the NHRA this season.

“Once again, our race fans in St. Louis and the Metro East delivered,” said Chris Blair, World Wide Technology Raceway’s Executive Vice President and General Manager.

Semi-Final Round
The top two qualifiers, Steve Torrence and Josh Hart of the weekend will now face each other in the weekend final race.
For Torrence he has had a tough season but is still in fifth place of the season points championship.

Brittany Force set a new national speed record with a 338.43 miles per hour run easily beating Austin Prock to advance to the next round.
Brittany Force owns all top 10 speed NHRA speed records in Top Fuel.
“Killer Run!” exclaimed Brittany describing her run.
Mike Salinas upset Top Fuel point leader Justin Ashley with a 338.43 ET / 278.23 mph. Both drivers spun the tires at the start of the race but Salinas got control for the upset win.
Shawn Langston and Kyle Wurtzel had a side-by-side race to the finish with Langston winning by a holeshot start.
“That is why they pay the big bucks,” said Langston laughing about his holeshot win.
