(Humboldt, KS) 7/27/12 – Jesse Stovall paced the field for the entire thirty lap feature Friday night in Lucas Oil MLRA competition at Humboldt Speedway. He jumped to the lead from the outside pole at the drop of the green flag. “The car was really really good,” said Stovall following the race. “We went last weekend and did a lot of testing. I think we found something. Hopefully we can continue this on to tomorrow night.” The win is Stovall’s second with the Lucas Oil MLRA.

Series point leader John Anderson took the lead from Brad Looney in lapped traffic just past the mid point in the feature. It was another solid finish for the Shop Quik driver. He now has three runner up finishes to go along with four wins.

Brad Looney, who set idle for most of the summer, won his heat early in the night and finished a strong third. Will Vaught and Justin Wells filled out the top five finishing positions.

Early in preliminary action Wells, Stovall and Looney scored heat race wins. The three drivers also occupied the first three feature starting positions. Vaught ran the fastest lap in the feature, at 15.666, on the races final circuit. The caution free feature took just over eight minutes to complete.

Saturday night action moves on to Springfield Raceway in Springfield, MO for the Casey’s General Store Summer Meltdown. The $3,000 to win race will be co-sanctioned with the MARS Series. The gates will open at 5:00 PM, with racing scheduled to begin at 7:00 PM.
