(BRASSTOWN, NORTH CAROLINA) The D&R Motorsports team and driver Ray Cook found themselves in the pit area at the historic Cleveland Speedway in Cleveland, Tennessee on Saturday night, September 15 for the annual running of the ‘Grant Adcox Memorial.’ The Southern All Stars Dirt Racing Series (SAS) showdown boasted a $3,500 payday. Ray laid down the second quickest lap around the 1/3-mile oval during SAS qualifying, which locked him into the outside of the front row for the 40-lapper. The Brasstown, North Carolina ace, who dropped back to fourth early in the race, rallied to finish a close runner-up behind only victor Billy Ogle, Jr. Complete results from Cleveland can be viewed online at www.sasdirt.com.

Another SAS event in East Tennessee will greet the #53 team this Saturday evening, September 22, as they will travel to the Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, Tennessee. The ‘King of the Mountain Fall Classic 50’ boasts a $5,000 top prize and will pay $300 to start the 50-lapper. Ray has already reached victory lane twice this season at SMS and will look to make it a hat trick this weekend. Additional information on the one-day show can be obtained by logging onto www.sasdirt.com.
