DIRTcar(BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS) Billy Moyer Racing (BMR) ventured to the states of Illinois and Missouri over the September 12-13 weekend for a pair of $10,000 to win UMP DIRTcar Series events, which were dubbed together as the ‘St. Louis Showdown.’ On Friday night at Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Illinois, Billy Moyer laid down the quickest lap overall during the qualifying session prior to scoring the win in his loaded heat race. After starting from the inside of the second row in the 50-lap headliner, Billy wound up fifth in the final finishing order behind only his son and victor Billy Moyer, Jr., Brian Birkhofer, Tim Manville, and Jason Feger.

A similar program was held on Saturday evening at Federated Raceway at I-55 in Pevely, Missouri and another $10,000 top prize was on the line. Billy once again set Fast Time during qualifying and later finished second in heat race action. After rolling off from the inside of the fourth row in the 40-lapper, the Batesville, Arkansas Hall of Famer picked off three competitors en route to a steady fourth place performance behind only winner Shannon Babb, Ryan Gustin, and Bobby Pierce. Complete results from the ‘St. Louis Showdown’ can be found online by clicking on www.tricityspeedway.net and www.i55raceway.com.

Next up for the #21 team will be a visit to Kentucky Lake Motor Speedway in Calvert City, Kentucky this Saturday, September 20. A $3,000 winner’s check will be up for grabs for the UMP Super Late Models in a single-day shootout at KLMS. This will be Billy’s first trip to the newly reopened speedplant this year.
