TAMPA, FL……2/5/15… Defending East Bay Raceway Park Track Champion Dave Schmauss set quick time tonight with a 16.31 with twenty nine cars entered for tonight’s 25-Lap A-Main.

Travis Varnadore, Kenny Monahan, Jack Nosbisch, Jr., and Max Blair won their heat races early on.

For the feature event it was Varnadore and Blair making up the front row and when the green flag waved it was Blair leading lap one. But it would be Varnadore taking over on lap two and leading for the next twelve laps.

As Varnadore drove into turn two he would slip up and allowed Josh Peacock to take advantage and drive under him for the lead.

Peacock would go onto to win his very first Crate Late Model Winternationals at his home track.

“Everybody seemed pretty even tonight” Peacock said in Victory Lane. I’ve won some pretty big races and this is another one to check off my list. Next for me is the local Scott Thompson Memorial and then I’ll retire.” he said jokingly. He also thanked his Dad for his continued support and also thanked Delgado engines. I hope the motor makes it thru the weekend he also stated. Peacock won by a .857 sec margin of victory.

Rounding out the top was Jack Nosbisch, Jr., Dave Schmauss, Mavrick Varnadore and Brad Cummings.

Action continues tomorrow night with the Crate Late Models, Team USA Mod Lites and the 5th Annual World Street Stock Championship. For more information, visit eastbayracewaypark.com or call 813-677-7223.
