show-me-100-2015.jpg(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) Dennis Erb, Jr. and his #28 team were back on the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series trail on Friday night, May 15 at Oshkosh Speedzone Raceway in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Dennis tripped the clock faster than any of the other 29 entrants during the qualifying session and later scored an impressive heat race triumph. After starting the $10,000 to win feature event from the outside of the front row, Dennis led laps 1-21 and 24-28 before settling into the second position. The Carpentersville, Illinois ace fought a tighter racecar as the race wore on and was passed for second on the final circuit to finish on the podium behind only winner Earl Pearson, Jr. and runner-up Jimmy Mars.

After Saturday’s LOLMDS show at LaSalle Speedway in LaSalle, Illinois was rained-out early in the day, Dennis Erb Racing snuck into Fairbury American Legion Speedway in Fairbury, Illinois on Saturday evening, May 16 for a UMP Super Late Model special, which boasted a $2,000 payday. With the track hammer-down from a late afternoon drenching, Dennis knocked down the ninth fastest lap during time trials prior to finishing third in his heat race. He then pulled off early in the 30-lap main event and settled for an eighteenth place showing at FALS. Complete results from both weekend programs can be viewed online at www.lucasdirt.com and www.fairburyspeedway.com.

Dennis Erb Racing will now set their sights on a huge Memorial Day holiday weekend with high-profile races in the states of Missouri and Illinois. Up first will be the 23rd edition of the ‘Show-Me 100’ at the pristine Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri on May 21-23. The ‘Cowboy Classic,’ which will be sanctioned by the Lucas Oil MLRA Series, will kick things off later tonight, May 21 and a $5,045 top prize has been established. Preliminary action for the ‘Show-Me 100’ will then take place on Friday night, while the consolation races and the 100-lap Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series crown jewel event are slated for Saturday evening at Wheatland. A $30,000 winner’s check will be on the line in the ‘Show-Me 100,’ while each feature starter will receive at least $1,500.

On Sunday, May 24, the dirt-slinging action will quickly shift to Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Illinois for the annual running of the ‘Budweiser 50.’ The UMP Super Late Models will run at the St. Louis-area oval for a $10,000 windfall. A complete show comprised of qualifying, heat races, consolation events, and a 50-lap main event will wrap up the hectic holiday weekend for the #28 team.
