(NORRIS CITY, ILLINOIS) The Riggs Motorsports team made their way to Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky on July 10-11 for two more pivotal Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series point races. Despite getting rained-out at the Cincinnati-area speedplant on Saturday evening, Friday’s $12,000 to win ‘Summer Sizzler Nationals’ opener went off without a hitch. Tanner English grabbed the fourth and final transfer spot through his loaded heat race and later rolled off from the outside of the seventh row in the 50-lap main event. Tanner was then able to drive past a handful of competitors during the headliner to once again land in the top ten – in the ninth finishing position.

Jack Riggs was also in competition over the weekend, as his #81j team invaded Clarksville Speedway in Clarksville, Tennessee on Saturday night for a weekly Super Late Model show. Jack timed in fifth quickest overall during the qualifying session and later finished fourth in both his heat race and the feature event. At the checkers in the A-Main, Jack trailed only $1,200 race winner Richard Frost, Don Young, and Gwynn Newby. Full results from both facilities can be accessed online at www.lucasdirt.com and www.clarksvillespeedway.com.

Tanner English and his #81e team have a hectic week coming up with the ultra-competitive Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series, which kicks off later tonight, July 13 at 300 Raceway in Farley, Iowa ($10,000 to win). From there, Tanner will head to Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Illinois ($12,000 to win) on Friday and the state-of-the-art Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri on Saturday ($20,000 to win) and Sunday ($12,000 to win). The young Benton, Kentucky ace comes into the four-race stretch tenth in the latest version of the LOLMDS point standings and is still on top of the Rookie of the Year chase!

While Jack Riggs is slated to enjoy the upcoming July 17-18 weekend off from racing action, his brother Jason Riggs will return to competition in a pair of races in the states of Illinois and Tennessee. Jason will join Tanner on Friday evening at Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Illinois to vie for the $12,000 top prize in the ‘NAPA Know How 50.’ He will then take his #81 machine to Clarksville Speedway in Clarksville, Tennessee on Saturday night for a weekly Super Late Model program, which once again pays $1,200 to the victor.
