NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model SeriesCARTERSVILLE, GA – NEA Speedway in Harrisburg, AR has signed with the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series for the 2011 season.  The NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Late Models will compete on Saturday nights for a track point fund and a Regional point fund from April 1 through October 2.

NEA Speedway joins Batesville Motor Speedway in Batesville, AR, Drew County Speedway in Monticello, AR, and Centerville Speedway in Centerville, AR as NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series sanctioned tracks for the 2011 season.  This marks the first time in over 20 years that four tracks different tracks in Arkansas have run dirt late models on a weekly basis.

“We’re looking forward to working with the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series and its Friday night tracks in the area, Batesville Motor Speedway and Malden Speedway in Mauldin, MO, along with alternating Saturday nights with Centerville Speedway to bring the fans in Arkansas competitive dirt late model racing on a weekly basis,” NEA Speedway Promoter T.J. Thompson said.  “All of the calls we received and all of the people we talked to were positive about joining the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series.  Their staff is very knowledgeable and professional.”

The 2011 NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series season begins on April 1 and runs through October 2.  A driver’s best finish of the week will count towards their Regional point total, and a driver’s best 14 weekly point counts will be tabulated towards their seasonal total along with bonus points for perfect attendance and competition on the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series National Tour.

A driver can earn up to 100 Regional Bonus Points two different ways.  A driver can earn 25 Regional Bonus Points for every four weeks of perfect attendance at a NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series track, and 25 Regional Bonus Points for competing in a NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series Touring event during the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series season.

The NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series dirt late models are powered by the economical GM Performance Crate Engines that are built and sealed at the factory to avoid any expensive modifications.  Competitors that compete in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series will be eligible to compete for a track point fund, and a $5,000-to-win Regional point fund that pays back ten places.

There are two GM Performance Crate Engines available for NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series competitors.  The 400 horsepower aluminum-head GM Performance 604 Crate Engine is available for free next day delivery anywhere in the Southeast for $5,295 from NeSmith Chevrolet in Claxton, GA.

The 350 horsepower steel-head GM Performance 602 Crate Engine is available for free next day delivery anywhere in the Southeast for $3,295 from NeSmith Chevrolet in Claxton, GA.  To place an order call Tim Bland at NeSmith Chevrolet toll-free at 1-877-497-3624, or visit them online at www.nesmithnow.com.

“We’re happy to have NEA Speedway as a part of the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series for 2011,” NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Director Roby Helm said.  “There has been a lot of excitement in Arkansas about bringing back weekly dirt late model racing, and we’re glad to be able to provide an economical and competitive way to make it happen for the tracks, competitors and fans.”

In addition to structuring the track and Regional point funds, the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series provides technical support and public relations support for its sanctioned tracks and member competitors.

“We work hard to make sure the competition is fair and that the tracks, their competitors, and their sponsors get the media exposure they’re due,” Helm said.  “The NeSmith Weekly Racing Series gives dirt late model drivers the opportunity to compete on the national stage without having to leave their local track, but if they wish to travel, they have the choice to compete at another track in their Region and race under the same rules.”
