Pontoon Beach, IL (June 27th, 2011) Tri-City Speedway will host one of the biggest weekends for crate late models ever held in the Midwest on October 14th & 15th, 2011. Two Series Championships will be decided on one weekend at the fast 3/8 mile clay oval.
It kicks off on Friday, October 14th with the Professional Crate Racers of America (PCRA) Series competing for their Season Championship. The PCRA Series has races in Missouri, Illinois and Kentucky and has drivers from Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, Indiana and Arkansas competing in the series.
Then on Saturday, October 15th, the UMP DIRTcar Pro Late Models Season Championship will be decided with a race paying $2,500 to win! With over 200 drivers having competed so far in 2011 in the UMP DIRTcar Pro Late Model Series, look for a great field of cars to be on hand to battle it out for the Championship.
The PCRA and UMP DIRTcar Pro Late Model Series use almost the same rules package, so cars and drivers can compete in both events.
Tri-City Speedway promoter Kevin Gundaker absolutely loves the crate late model series and wants to help in every way possible to further crate racing along in the Midwest. His son Gordy Gundaker also competes in the weekly UMP DIRTcar Pro Late Model Series at Tri-City Speedway.
PCRA Series Founder and President Mark Voigt is super excited about the big weekend of crate racing at Tri-City Speedway. He says Tri-City Speedway provides fantastic racing for the crate late models and the track has welcomed crate late models since their introduction to the Midwest several years ago. To have the PCRA Series initial Season Champion crowned at Tri-City Speedway is going to be a great moment.
Tri-City Speedway is located just across the Mississippi River from St. Louis in Pontoon Beach, Illinois just south I-270 at exit 4 (Route 203).
