(GRAYSON, KENTUCKY) The Josh McGuire Racing (JMR) team recorded their second feature victory in as many weeks on Saturday night, April 28 at the nearby Willard Speedway in Willard, Kentucky. The unsanctioned ‘Pepsi Late Model Challenge’ was held over the weekend and the #41 team made a last minute decision to invade the 1/4-mile facility. The decision proved to be a profitable one, as Josh McGuire swept the evening’s racing activities. Josh laid down the quickest lap during qualifying, won his heat race, and later led flag-to-flag in the 30-lap feature event to claim the $1,500 payday!

A day earlier, Josh was in action at the Southern Ohio Speedway in Wheelersburg, Ohio on Friday, as a $6,000 top prize was up for grabs in the annual running of the ‘Southern 50.’ Josh ran second in his heat race, which locked him into the outside of the third row in the 50-lap main event. In front of the large crowd, the Grayson, Kentucky hotshoe stormed past four competitors en route to a sterling runner-up performance behind only winner Eddie Carrier, Jr. Full results from the ‘Southern 50′ can be accessed by clicking on www.southernohiospeedway.com.

“I will take a first and a second place finish every weekend if I could,” said McGuire following the completion of a strong month of April. “Our car is performing really well right now and hopefully that continues heading into some of these bigger races on our schedule during the month of May. I am really looking forward to heading north to Hartford and LaSalle next week. It should be a lot of fun racing against the Lucas Oil bunch up there and we’ll try our best to run up front with them!”

Josh and his #41 team have opted to take the upcoming May 4-5 weekend off from Dirt Late Model competition. They will be busy; however, as they will prepare their equipment for a Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series doubleheader on May 11-12 in the states of Michigan and Illinois. Josh is scheduled to participate in the $10,000 to win program on Friday night at the Hartford Motor Speedway in Hartford, Michigan, while Saturday’s $10,000 to win battle will be held at the LaSalle Speedway in LaSalle, Illinois.
