Jimmy Mars Two-for-Two in New Modified; Readies for Knoxville!

Knoxville Raceway(MENOMONIE, WISCONSIN) Jimmy Mars, of Menomonie, Wisconsin, headed to his hometown Red Cedar Speedway on September 21-22 for the 33rd Annual ‘Punky Manor Challenge of Champions.’ For the second straight weekend, Jimmy picked up the victory in his new MB Customs Modified. After winning his heat race and the dash to earn the pole position for the 30-lap feature event, Jimmy led the entire distance en route to the dominating $2,000 win over Kevin Adams, Mike Anderson, Dave Cain, and Cory Mahder!

Behind the wheel of his Dirt Late Model, Jimmy went from last to fourth in his heat race prior to recording a third place effort in the dash. After rolling off from the inside of the second row in the $5,000 to win A-Main on Saturday, the driver known as the “Iceman” moved up to finish a strong second in the 40-lapper behind only winner A.J. Next up for the Mars Racing team will be a visit to the Hawkeye State for the ‘Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals.’ The 9th annual version of the crown jewel extravaganza will take place from September 27-29 at the famous Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa. A pair of $7,000 to win preliminary shows are scheduled for Thursday and Friday, while the 100-lapper at the 1/2-mile Marion County fairgrounds oval on Saturday shells out an impressive $40,000 to the victor. Lucas Oil Production Studios will also be on hand to tape this mega-event for a SPEED and MAVTV broadcast later in the fall.
