(BRIGHT, INDIANA) With the World of Outlaws Late Model Series tripleheader wiped out this past weekend due to inclement weather, the Warrior House Car team and driver Scott James slipped into the Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, Tennessee on Saturday, March 23. The Southern All Stars Dirt Racing Series (SAS) sanctioned the ‘Rockin with the Stars 40’ and a $5,000 top prize was on the line.
Scott timed in sixth fastest in his group during the qualifying session and later finished fourth in his B-Main to earn a coveted starting spot in the 40-lap main event. The Bright, Indiana native had moved up inside of the top ten by lap 25 when he unfortunately got into the wall and was forced to retire in the twentieth position. Complete results from Smoky Mountain can be viewed online at www.sasdirt.com.
The Warrior House Car team is putting the finishing touches on a new racecar this week and will therefore take the upcoming March 29-30 weekend off from racing action. Scott and the #1G bunch will return to the track on April 5-6 in the next scheduled World of Outlaws Late Model Series event at the Farmer City Raceway in Farmer City, Illinois. The 5th Annual ‘Illini 100’ will take center stage the first weekend in April, as a whopping $20,000 winner’s check will be up for grabs. Qualifying and heat races are slated for Friday night at the 1/4-mile bullring, while consolation events and the 100-lap headliner are scheduled for Saturday evening. Additional information on the highly anticipated ‘Illini 100’ weekend can be accessed by clicking on www.woolms.com.
