Lucas Oil Late Model Series(MUSCATINE, IOWA) Brian Birkhofer and the #15b team ventured to the LaSalle Speedway in LaSalle, Illinois on May 10-11 for the annual running of the ‘Spring Shootout.’ The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series presided over a pair of $10,000 to win clashes in the Land of Lincoln. Following a rain-out of the event on Friday night, Saturday’s program at the 1/4-mile bullring went off without a hitch.

Brian qualified fourth quickest in Group A during the time trial session and later placed second in his loaded heat race. After starting the 50-lap main event from the inside of the fourth row, Brian was a fixture inside of the top ten throughout the caution-free affair. The Muscatine, Iowa native eventually crossed underneath the checkers in the eighth position following the conclusion of the ‘Spring Shootout.’ Full results from LaSalle can be accessed by clicking on www.lucasdirt.com.

Next up for Birkhofer Racing will be another Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series stop, this time at the Batesville Motor Speedway in Locust Grove, Arkansas. The 2nd Annual ‘Bad Boy 98’ will take place at Mooney and Connie Starr’s facility on May 17-18. Qualifying and heat races are slated for Friday night, while a pair of B-Mains and the 98-lap feature event are scheduled for Saturday evening. The winner of the ‘Bad Boy 98’ will take home a hefty $20,000 winner’s check. Brian finished nineteenth in last year’s inaugural version of the race, which is sponsored by Bad Boy Mowers.
