DIRTcar Summer Nationals(HARRISBURG, ILLINOIS) The Riggs Motorsports team returned to dirt-slinging action last week on the UMP DIRTcar Summer Nationals tour, but the hectic stretch of competition from June 24-28 was hampered extensively by Mother Nature. Last Wednesday, Jason Riggs was in the pit area at the tiny Belle-Clair Speedway in Belleville, Illinois. Jason ran third in his heat race, but later slipped back to fourteenth in the final finishing order of the $5,000 to win headliner.

Both Jason and teammate Brian Shirley unloaded their Rocket racecars on Thursday at Clarksville Speedway in Clarksville, Tennessee. After finishing fourth in their respective heat races, Jason was credited with another fourteenth place effort in the $5,000 to win feature, while Brian retired early in the 40-lapper and was relegated to a twenty-second place performance. The shows the next three nights at Paducah (KY) International Raceway, Federated Raceway (MO) at I-55, and Lincoln (IL) Speedway were then subsequently washed out due to inclement weather. You can read a full race-by-race recap from the soggy week by clicking on www.RiggsMotorsports.com.

The teams will once again return to the “Hell Tour” this week (July 1-5), but both drivers have different schedules in mind. You can watch Jason Riggs and Brian Shirley throttle up at the following venues this week:
