BATAVIA, Ohio (June 28, 2023) – The stars of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will invade Muskingum County Speedway this weekend for two action-packed days of competition, Friday and Saturday, June 30 and July 1.
The action gets underway on Friday with three 20-lap preliminary A-Mains for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series, each paying $3,000 to the winner. Following the Allstar Performance Time Trials the field will be split into three, 20-lap A-Mains. The top six finishers from each preliminary A-Main will be locked into Saturday’s Freedom 60.
The top two drivers from each preliminary A-Main on Friday will compete in the STAKT Products Tournament Challenge – going head-to-head in a tournament style race that will determine the first three rows of the Freedom 60 A-Main.
Friday’s racing card also includes Heat Races for the Modifieds, Sport Mods, Mod Lites, and 4-Cylinders.
Saturday’s program includes Dirt Draft Hot Laps, the STAKT Products Tournament Challenge, B-Mains, and the 60-lap, $30,000-to-win, Freedom 60 A-Main for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. The Modifieds, Sport Mods, Mod Lites, and 4-Cylinders will each compete in their B-Mains and respective A-Mains.
In addition to the on-track action, Muskingum County Speedway will host the largest fireworks display the area has to offer following Saturday night’s racing events.
Muskingum County Speedway is located at 7985 Frazeysburg Road in Dresden, Ohio, just north of Zanesville. The pit gate opens at 3:00 PM with the general admission gates opening at 4:00 PM and on-track action beginning at 7:00 PM on both days. All times are Eastern Time.

Ricky Thornton Jr. leads the Big River Steel Chase for the Championship presented by ARP to Muskingum County Speedway. Hudson O’Neal is second, followed by Brandon Overton, Tim McCreadie, and Jonathan Davenport rounding out the top five in the championship standings.
