Where is the biggest UMP Race of the Weekend thats right TRI-CITY SPEEDWAY !! Starting this Thursday the biggest names in UMP Modified will all be gathering on the spacious 3/8 mile oval in Pontoon Beach, Illinois. The race is turning into an event and the Gundaker’s keep turning up the wick to make it bigger each year. You can expect anywhere from 75-90 Modifieds with the purse increasing each night with Saturday’s feature paying $5,000 to win. Need to mention Summit for the great sponsorship of making this event of what it is today !!

With the UMP Championships coming down to the wire it is setting up quite a fight between Quincy, Illinois driver Michael Long and Highland’s Mike Harrison. Long is a 4-Time Mod Mania Champion and is the current National UMP point leader. Harrison is a 2-Time Mod Mania Champ and won the event last year. The two are separated by less 20 points for the National Championship, so you tell me is it on or not !!!

These two will have to be on their game if they want to contend with the likes of Jeff Leka, Brent Mullins, Levi Kissinger, Steven Brooks, Kenny Wallace, Ray Walsh, Ray Bollinger, Tait Davenport, Dean and Nick Hoffman, and Chad Kinder to name just a few. The Best Open Wheel UMP Mods will be at Tri-City for the next 3 days.

If the mods was not enough UMP Late Models will also be on the ticket each night, again as the UMP Championship closes guys are trying close the gap and finish strong. You can expect to see names such as Bobby Pierce, Jason Feger, Frankie Heckenast Jr., Rusty Schlenk, and McKay Wenger to name a few.

There is a ton of excitement in the air I am hearing rumors of the other hot dogs in the late model world that might be throwing their hat in the mix but those are just rumors so I won’t mention any names !!

Folks this is going to be a great 3 Days of racing September 22-24

Don’t miss it and continue to support your local dirt track !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
