(Peoria, IL) The UMP “Summernationals” roll into Peoria Speedway tonight, with a 40 lap feature paying $5,000 to-win and $500 to-start for the UMP DirCar Series Super Late Models on Wednesday, July 6. Many of the nations’ finest drivers will be on hand, including 2010 winner Jack Sullivan of Greenbriar, AR and current “Summernationals” point leader Shannon Babb of Mowequa.
Jeep Van Wormer of Pinconning, MI, Matt Miller of Waterville, OH, Scott James of Bright, IN, Bret Sievert from Mukwonago, WI, Kent Robinson of Bloomington, IN Dillon White of Crofton, KY and Jason Odlfied from Perth, Australia are among the out-of-state drivers expected. Jason Feger, Ryan Unzicker, Dennis Erb, Jr., Billy Drake, Wes Steidinger, Donny Walden, Randy Korte, Brian Shirely, Brandon Sheppard, Kevin Weaver, Tim Lance, Mike Spatola, Todd Bennett and Steve Lance, Jr, will be among the Illinois drivers hoping to keep the $5,000 in-state. 44 cars signed in for last years’ race, with a near 50 car field expected this year.
