Lucas Oil Late Model SeriesHARRISBURG, IL (May 2) – With Mother Nature once again dominating events throughout the Midwest over the April 27-28 weekend, two Riggs Motorsports drivers were able to get races into the record book. Jason Riggs invaded the Clarksville Speedway in Clarksville, Tennessee on Saturday night, April 28 for a regular weekly program. After suffering an untimely flat tire during qualifying, Jason advanced up to second in his heat race. The Harrisburg, Illinois native then rolled off from the outside of the fifth row in the A-Main and vaulted up to fourth to finish only behind winner Tanner English, Terry English, and Caleb Ashby.

Scott James was also in Dirt Late Model competition on Friday evening, April 27 at the Southern Ohio Speedway in Wheelersburg, Ohio. The annual running of the unsanctioned ‘Southern 50’ took place on Friday at SOS and a $6,000 payday was on the line. Scott ran fourth in heat race action to earn a coveted starting spot in the 50-lapper, but was unfortunately involved in a tangle that led to a disappointing fifteenth place effort. Complete results from both weekend races can be found online at www.southernohiospeedway.com and www.clarksvillespeedway.com.

All three Riggs Motorsports team members – Jason Riggs, Scott James, and Kevin Cole – plan to tackle a pair of Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series showdowns this upcoming weekend (May 4-5). The Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Illinois will play host to a $10,000 to win program on Friday night, while the Paducah International Raceway in Paducah, Kentucky will do the same on Saturday evening. Both shows will be headlined by 50-lap feature events. Additional information on the Lucas Oil double-dip can be accessed by clicking on www.lucasdirt.com.
