Lucas Oil Late Model Series(BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS) Dirt Late Model Hall of Famer Billy Moyer accumulated his tenth feature win of the 2012 racing season on Saturday night, May 5 at the Paducah International Raceway in Paducah, Kentucky! After laying down a strong lap in Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series qualifying, Billy won his heat race to earn the outside front row starting spot for the 50-lap feature event. The popular driver known as “Mr. Smooth” held off all challenges at PIR in leading wire-to-wire to collect the $10,000 top prize. Billy reached victory lane by besting a stout field including a top five that featured Jimmy Owens, Scott Bloomquist, Steve Francis, and Earl Pearson, Jr.!

Earlier in the weekend, the #21 team was in action in another $10,000 to win Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series battle on Friday at the Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Illinois. Billy ran second in his loaded heat race, which locked him into the seventh starting position for the 50-lapper. Unfortunately, Billy’s night was over rather quickly, as he was involved in a first lap incident that caused him to retire in the twenty-sixth spot. Complete results from the LOLMDS double-dip can be accessed online at www.lucasdirt.com.

“We had a great car all weekend, but we didn’t get much of a chance to show it on Friday at Granite City,” quoted Moyer this week. “I was in the wrong place at the wrong time early in that feature, but I think we were going to have something for them that night too. Then on Saturday at Paducah, we got a chance to show our hot rod off a little bit and I was able to get the win. We’ll just work hard on our stuff for the next week or so and get ready to go after that new car at Batesville!”

The Billy Moyer Racing (BMR) team is scheduled to take the upcoming May 11-12 weekend off from Dirt Late Model competition. The next event on their radar will be the inaugural ‘Bad Boy 98’ at the nearby Batesville Motor Speedway in Locust Grove, Arkansas. On May 18-19, the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will preside over the ‘Bad Boy 98′ and the winner will receive a new 2012 Chevy Camaro.
