(SOLON SPRINGS, WISCONSIN) The Brady Smith Racing team invaded the renowned Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wisconsin on June 15-16 for the annual running of the ‘Masters.’ The grueling UMP Summer Nationals tour rolled into CLS to sanction a pair of weekend showdowns. On Friday night, Brady Smith timed in second quickest in his group during the qualifying session and later grabbed the second transfer spot in his heat race. After starting the $5,000 to win main event from the inside of the third row, Brady hung around the top five through much of the 30-lapper before notching a solid seventh place performance.

At Cedar Lake on Saturday evening, the finale of the ‘Masters’ took place and a $10,000 top prize was on the line. Brady laid down the third fastest lap in his group during time trials and once again finished second in heat race action. The Solon Springs, Wisconsin standout then blasted to the front of the stellar field in the 50-lap feature event, battled for the race lead on several occasions, and eventually claimed an impressive runner-up effort behind only winner Billy Moyer, Jr. Full results from the Cedar Lake double-dip can be viewed online at www.dirtondirt.com.

Following the strong weekend in his home state of Wisconsin, Brady plans to take the upcoming June 22-23 weekend off from Dirt Late Model competition. The #2 team will be busy putting together a new Team Zero by Bloomquist car in preparation for the upcoming ‘Firecracker 100’ presented by GottaRace.com. The Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pennsylvania will play host to the three-race extravaganza from June 28-30. A pair of $6,000 to win qualifying nights will precede the 100-lap ‘Firecracker 100’ on Saturday, which boasts a hefty $30,000 payday.
