alms-logo12(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) Dennis Erb Racing traveled with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series for a huge tripleheader weekend in the states of Illinois and Kentucky on April 30-May 2. Things kicked off at the tiny Macon Speedway in Macon, Illinois on Thursday, as a $12,000 top prize was on the line. Dennis Erb, Jr. placed seventh in his heat race and second in his B-Main to earn the outside of the tenth row for the start of the 100-lap main event. The Carpentersville, Illinois ace then had a solid run going in the extra-distance affair until drawing a questionable lap 83 caution, which dropped him to a fifteenth place showing.

The weekend then concluded with a pair of $10,000 to win shows at Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Illinois and Paducah International Raceway in Paducah, Kentucky. On Friday night at Granite City, Dennis laid down the fastest lap in Group B during qualifying and later won his loaded heat race. After starting the 50-lapper from the outside of the front row, Dennis wound up seventh in the final rundown of the headliner at the St. Louis-area oval. At PIR on Saturday evening, Dennis ran second in his heat race and ninth in the 50-lap main event. He now sits tenth in the latest version of the LOLMDS point standings following the action-packed weekend. Full results can be accessed online at www.lucasdirt.com.

With the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series sitting idle for Mother’s Day weekend, the #28 team will stay close to home to compete in a pair of American Late Model Series (ALMS) battles in the Land of Lincoln on May 8-9. On Friday night, Kankakee County Speedway in Kankakee, Illinois will play host to a $3,000 to win program, while Fairbury American Legion Speedway in Fairbury, Illinois will take center stage on Saturday evening by hosting the $10,000 to win ‘#FALS Fan Frenzy.” Additional information on both of these races can be viewed by pointing your web browser to www.kankakeecountyspeedway.com and www.fairburyspeedway.com.
