(BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS) The Billy Moyer Racing (BMR) team will return to dirt-slinging action with the UMP DIRTcar Summer Nationals Series over the June 26-27 weekend in the states of Kentucky and Missouri. On Friday night, the Paducah International Raceway in Paducah, Kentucky will play host to a $10,000 to win “Hell Tour” showdown. The Federated Raceway at I-55 in Pevely, Missouri will then do the same on Saturday evening. Billy Moyer has an astonishing 89 career Summer Nationals victories and has multiple big-race wins at both PIR and I-55. More information concerning the doubleheader weekend can be accessed online at www.thehelltour.com.
Last week, Billy and his #21 team entered two UMP DIRTcar Summer Nationals tilts, both of which paid $10,000 to the winner. On Wednesday, June 17, the Farley Speedway in Farley, Iowa took center stage and Billy started off his night by knocking down the fastest lap overall of the 25 entrants during the qualifying session. After running second in his heat race, Billy wound up sixth in the final rundown of the 50-lap main event behind only victor Billy Moyer, Jr., Chris Simpson, Bobby Pierce, Shannon Babb, and Chad Simpson.
The Fairbury American Legion Speedway in Fairbury, Illinois then greeted the “Hell Tour” stars on Saturday, June 20. Billy clicked off the quickest time in his group during qualifying prior to scoring the victory in his heat race. The Batesville, Arkansas Hall of Famer then led laps 14-22 of the feature event before suffering a broken transmission while leading. Due to the mechanical woes, Billy was relegated to a disappointing nineteenth place effort at FALS.
