Zebulon, Georgia (02/24/15) – Domination just doesn’t begin to describe what Shane Clanton accomplished last week at Volusia Speedway Park (Barberville, Florida) during the 44th Annual DIRTCar Nationals. The Georgia hot shoe made history by becoming the first driver to ever win four Dirt Late Model events in a week at the historic oval, and along the way he also claimed the DIRTCar Late Model Gator championship for the week in his Weldbank Energy #25 Capital/Clements Racing Engine Super Late Model.

“That was a good ol’ Georgia ass-kickin’ right there,” said Clanton in victory lane on Saturday night after winning his fourth race of the week in five tries. “We were by far the class of the field. I don’t give a damn what anybody says. We worked our ass off all winter long. This feels good. I drove my heart out tonight, just biding my time and making the right moves at the right time.” He concluded by noting, “Again I have to say a special thanks to Weldbank Energy, Hornburg Oil, Penn Gold Well Services, VP Racing Fuels, Clements Racing Engines, Capital Race Cars, and all of my great sponsors for their support.”

Shane’s stellar week started on Monday with a convincing triumph in the $7,000-to-win, UMP DIRTCar feature, where he stormed from the fifth starting spot to score the victory. Rain won on Tuesday night, and after a fifth place finish on Wednesday night in UMP DIRTCar Late Model action, Clanton was poised for an unbelievable stretch in World of Outlaws (WoO) Late Model Series action to close out the week.

First he stormed to the $10,000 win by a staggering 5.461 seconds on Thursday night. Then on Friday night Clanton was back for more as he overcame a late-race battle with Dale McDowell to again drive away from the field to claim a $10,000 victory for the second straight night in WoO action. The personable driver put an exclamation point on the weekend on Saturday evening by pulling the hat track with his third-straight, $10,000 win. For his efforts he was also crowed the DIRTCar Late Model Gator champion, and received a total of five coveted gator trophies on the week. Clanton now holds five wins on the season.

“It was just an amazing week, but the work is just beginning,” commented Clanton. “We have to carry this momentum into the next series’ events in Kentucky and Arkansas. We definitely can’t let up.”

Shane currently leads the WoO standings by 90 markers over his closest pursuers. Full results and complete standings are available at www.WoOLMS.com .

The next event scheduled for the team is the grand re-opening of New Senoia Raceway (Senoia, Georgia) on March 14th with a $1,500-to-win event. For more information, please visit www.SenoiaRaceway.com .
