(GRAYSON, KENTUCKY) The Josh McGuire Racing (JMR) team ventured to the Buckeye State of Ohio over the May 18-19 weekend and walked away with a pair of strong podium finishes. On Friday night at the Southern Ohio Speedway in Wheelersburg, Ohio, Josh McGuire timed in second quickest during qualifying and later ran second in the dash to earn the outside of the front row for the $2,000 to win feature event. The Grayson, Kentucky native once again had a solid run during the 25-lapper, as he notched a runner-up performance behind only winner Jackie Boggs.

Saturday took the #41 team to the Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio for the track’s season opener. Josh laid down the quickest lap during time trials to earn Fast Time honors and later finished fifth in the inverted dash. After rolling off from the inside of the third row in the $2,000 to win A-Main, Josh drove past two competitors to claim a third place effort behind only winner Jackie Boggs and runner-up R.J. Conley. Full results from both Southern Ohio and PRP can be viewed online at www.southernohiospeedway.com and www.portsraceway.com.

The JMR team is now set to tackle one of the biggest races of the season, the ‘DART Show-Me 100’ presented by ProtectTheHarvest.com, on May 25-26 at the immaculate Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri. A whopping $30,000 paycheck will be on the line on Saturday night in the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series-sanctioned 100-lapper, which will be taped for broadcast on CBS, CBS Sports, SPEED, and MAVTV Networks in 2012. Josh has made one career trek to Wheatland for the ‘Show-Me 100,’ as he transferred into the 2010 edition of the storied race before retiring early in the twenty-sixth position.

After the ‘Show-Me 100’ concludes, the #41 team will then make the long overnight journey to the Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio on Sunday, May 27 for the inaugural ‘Boone Coleman Memorial Gator 50.’ A $5,000 top prize will be up for grabs in the unsanctioned, one-day showdown at PRP. Additional information on both Memorial Day weekend races can be accessed by clicking on www.lucasoilspeedway.com and www.portsraceway.com.
